The Cornhole Rating:
Beware: There are two versions of this product. There is a 3ft long version (~$79), and a 4ft version (~$92). In this review we are looking at the cornhole board dimensions of 2ft x 4ft which is regulation size. (Even though the 3ft version says “Regulation” it is not the correct size per American Cornhole Association or American Cornhole Organization. Be careful not to purchase the wrong boards.

The Good
Well, you get what you pay for right? For under $100 you are going to get a complete set (board, bags and a carrying case). You are going to be 100% ready to play when this set is delivered to your door..that is pretty great. Just don’t expect to get the highest of quality. Expect something that is going to work and you can use to learn and enjoy the game.
If you are into painting your own designs, staining the wood or adding cornhole board decals or cornhole board wraps, these boards are not too bad. They have unfinished wood which allows for easy application of vinyl as well as paint.
If you are going to be lugging around your set, the addition of the carry case is a nice bonus. The case makes it so you one person can unload and carry the entire set. (Total set weighs about 30lbs) The case is decent and should last you a while. There are better cases out there, like the GoSport Premium Cornhole Carrying Case for around $20.
The price! Compared to other sets (or just boards) this set is an affordable option. Again, I would only recommend this set those just getting into the game and not wanting to spend too much. The price is probably the best thing this set has going for it. You’ll spend less than $100 on the cornhole set which means you can probably afford to spend a little more on accessories like lights, score keeping or drink holders.
The Bad
Because these boards are made from cheap thin wood, they will tend to have some issues. In some cases the boards may be delivered cracks and display slight warping. There might also be some minor workmanship issues (everything not being lined up square, things like that.)
These boards have a rough finish and may need some attention before you start playing on them. In the game or cornhole, rough boards result in the bags sticking instead if sliding. This is not good. Expect to spend some time cleaning the cornhole boards up by sanding and then painting or decals to get a good finish.
Probably the worst part about this set is the overall quality of construction across all of the pieces that come in the set. There are lots of reports of the bags falling apart after only a couple of games, legs being uneven and screws missing. Quality control and overall quality seems to be really lacking in this product.
Conclusion
If you are not sure if you are going to like the game of cornhole, or maybe only plan on playing the game a couple of times a year…this could be the cornhole set for you. It comes with everything you need to start playing, but don’t expect it to last very long.
If you want to get a quality board, and customize it yourself with cornhole board wraps, decals or a custom paint job then I would recommend getting a set of unfinished cornhole board. And then add some quality weather resistant bags and a carry case and you will have the best set for under $150.
If you are willing to spend a little more than $150, you can get a set that will last a lot longer, has quality craftsmanship and will perform better. Currently, our most recommend cornhole set would be by Vorticy. Look for a review of this set coming very soon.

Hi, I was looking for games for the vacation that we are going to take for two weeks in a camping. So when I saw your Sports Festival Regulation Size Wooden Cornhole Set with the Free Durable Carrying case I thought to myself that the kids and adults are gonna love it.
Thanks for this nice ideas you just gave me
Have a nice summer!
Hello Catherine. Tis the season for camping!
When we head to the lake we always take our cornhole boards with us. We have hours and hours of fun, eating and playing cornhole.
So, while the Sports Festival Set is “decent” for the money, I would recommend you take a look at a couple of other sets before you make you decisions. Especially if you are considering taking your cornhole set camping.
Driveway Games All Weather Cornhole Set – Amazon has this set for < $100
You should also check out my post, Where to Find Cheap Cornhole Boards for some additional options.
Enjoy your summer and time with the family. All the best!
Looks like a good starter set at the regulation size. I have been thinking about buying a set but they can be pretty expensive for something really nice.
I see that there are some problems with the durability of the bags and boards. Is the wood much thicker and the bags that much more durable on a more expensive set?
Eric – Thanks for stopping by The Cornhole!
Yeah, so the Sports Festival Regulation set is an OK starter set. I mostly did this review the shy people away from this set as there are some better options.
The plywood used is thinner than it should be it tends to separate pretty easily. And the bags…the issues are mostly around the sticking. Cornhole bags take a beating! If the sticking isn’t quality, the bags quickly fall apart. Next thing you know you are stapling the seam shut just so you can keep playing…but then it happens. The bag hits hard and the filling material goes everywhere. Game over. 🙂
Spend a little more money and get something like the Driveway Games All Weather Set or check out my post on Where to Find Cheap Cornhole Boards. Any of those options would be better than the Sports Festival board.
We have lots of summer left…so get your cornhole set soon!!!
This is a great family and kids game idea. I’ve never seen it before.
When I was a kid we always had beanbags around for some reason, but I never noticed that there was any competitive sport for it.
I can see for kids’ birthday parties or trips to the beach or picnics it would be quite entertaining.
I’ll keep the cornhole in mind next time an event like those comes along.
Please do keep cornhole in mind and spread the word. We get a lot of folks that stop by that have never heard of cornhole (some of them call the game bean bag toss, but a lot of them have never been exposed to the game at all).
Cornhole is a super fun, easy to learn game that anyone, of any skill level can play.
When I was a kid we had bean bags around as well. My grandparents had a Tic-Tac-Toe board with spinning X and O that you would toss bean bags at. TossACross – We loved that game.
Have fun out there!
I didn’t know about this game and I was wondering what game I could get for our family camping and I think I will try this one out.
Do you know how many can play this game?
I have found 2 game for our camping trip so thank you for sharing this game.
Best regards
Salomon.
Hello Salomon!
Cornhole is one of the most perfect games for camping trips! It’s quick and easy to setup…and everyone can play! Within a few minutes of playing, even small kids are pretty darn good at the game. The competition can be fierce and the gameplay is fast.
Cornhole can be played by 2-4 people per cornhole board set (2 boards/8 bags). Games are usually pretty fast, lasting 10-15 minutes. So the other people that want to play won’t have to wait very long to get their turn.
Here is an idea for you…It is a lot of fun to have a little tournament! This really gets the competition going and someone (or a team) gets to go home the CHAMPION of CORNHOLE! Check out my post on running a cornhole tournament here.
Hope you have a great time camping!
First of all, I have to say I have not heard of the Sports Festival Regulation Size Wooden Cornhole Set or any Cornhole Set for that matter, and I am a grandmother in my sixties.
Both my grandkids love camping and games. I can see this is something they would enjoy. Thanks for an honest review; it is good to know what you pay for and the quality of the boards involved. Is the board something that someone could make with good quality wood?
Hi Mary Ann.
Well, you are never too old to play cornhole! That is one of the things that we love about this game. Doesn’t matter if you are 3 or 93…you can play cornhole and have a great time.
In this review of the Sports Festival Regulation Cornhole set I’m trying to warn folks that for the price it is an OK deal. But for a little more money, you can get a lot nicer set than will last a lot longer.
If you want something for camping. Something that the kids and grandkids can abuse…you can’t go wrong with the Driveway Games All-Weather Cornhole Set. If you want to go with traditional wood boards, I recommend the Victory Tailgate Wood Set that comes with bags. This set is nice as you can stain or paint it any color you like.
And yes, you can totally make your own cornhole boards. You only need basic woodworking tools and a little bit of skill. The boards can be made from a single sheet (4’x8′) sheet of plywood, some 2x4s and miscellaneous hardware. There are some good instructions online for building your own. Check out our Boards page or YouTube for ideas!
I love this game! Im from the Midwest and this was a classic…always out at any party, gathering, event, fair, etc.
Then I moved to California and nobody knows what this game is – I’ll have to get one to show these Californians what a good time is. I’m no good at it but that’s the fun part right lol!
Thanks!
Hi there Taylor!
We love this game too! So nice to hear from someone in the Midwest…a place that knows a thing or two about cornhole!
One of the best things about cornhole is that even if you are no good, you’re still going to have a good time!
We are located just above you in Oregon. The popularity of cornhole has definitely grown in the Pacific NW over the last 5 years of so. You keep sharing the game of cornhole down there in California and we’ll keep in growing up here. Before long the West Coast will be the new cornhole capital!
Moving from the Midwest to California…that must have been a culture shock.
Anyway, hope you had a great summer and played some cornhole!
Have fun out there!
